Young Farmers.
The average age of farmers is increasing and young people are travelling to cities and away from primary production in pursuit of more lucrative sources of income.
One important element of ensuring coffee resilience in the long term is encouraging young farmers to participate in farming or become in the coffee value chain. For example, Vocational training are encouraged; Barista courses, cupping, coffee agronomy, business management trainings etc. This is through an established working relationship with young farmers in Kanungu, Kabale, Kisoro and Rukungiri.
Labor is Dignity and Young people must be involved in farming to provide food to the increasing population but also find solutions to the increasing unemployment since Agriculture multiplies Jobs four times faster than any other sector in most of the Africa Economies.
